Just as you want to ensure your managers don’t abandon their feedback and employee review duties during a period of remote work, it’s also important as a Human Resource Director for you to encourage them to continue any coaching they might be doing during this time as well.

I recommend your managers use the GROW model while coaching virtually. GROW stands for Goal, Reality, Options and What next. Managers can use this model to guide their virtual conversations with those they’re coaching. At the end of the conversation, they’ll have identified a goal, the reality of the current situation, the options for reaching the goal and their next steps.

And don’t forget! One of the primary benefits of coaching is creating networks for those being coached. Just because you’re practicing social distancing, that doesn’t mean networking needs to cease. Virtual networking is just as valuable for creating connections.

This week’s free chapter download from my Amazon best selling book, ENGAGE, is called ‘Helping others Grow’. You can download it by clicking this link.
